general description

This sample is an isolated crystal of titanite. Some of its faces are striated. The titanite is brown-red and transparent and shows that it has developed in a pegmatite (titanites developed in alpine fissures are green).

This sample comes from Northwest of Jugnot in Pakistan. It integrated the collections of the Muséum national d’Histoire naturelle thanks to the of a private Italian collector. It is kept in the storage rooms of the Muséum (i.e., not yet displayed to the public).
