general description

Tabulars crystals are gray. Transparent on sliver, they show a frosted aspect on their surfaces, that make them dull whithout lustre. They measure on the average 30 mm length for 20 mm, their thickness is near 5 mm. They are imbricated each other.

This sample of stolzite comes from Sainte-Lucie mine in Lozère, France. It was acquired thanks to support from Total. It is kept in the storage rooms of the collections of the Muséum national d’Histoire naturelle (i.e., not yet displayed to the public).
