general description

This sample shows hyaline quartz crystals that have the particularity of being developed around a shist. One can easely observe dark nodules inside quartz.

This sample comes from Saint Sorlin d'Arves, Savoie, in France. It was offered to the Muséum national d'Histoire naturelle by an amateur collector. It is kept in the storage rooms of the collections (i.e., not yet displayed to the public).
