general description

This specimen is an association of hyaline quartz around an initilal crystal. The pyramidal aspect is due to the growth of the other quartz crystal which development get preferentially along the initial quartz prism.

This specimen was discovered in Itremo, Ambatovinadrahana in Madagascar. Thanks to the gift of a private collector, the Muséum national d'Histoire naturelle obtained the sample for its collection.

It is kept in the storage rooms of the collections of the Muséum (i.e., not yet displayed to the public).
