general description

This sample is made of hyaline quartz on brown siderite crystals. Siderite crystals are rhomboedric with a greasy lustre. Quartz is colourless, crystals measures on the average 1.5 cm. It seems likely that one observes crystals with a la Gardette twin (association of two crystals meet at an angle of 84.33°). The sample measures 12 x 13 cm.

This specimen comes from Taillat deposit, Isère in France. It was offered to the Muséum national d'Histoire naturelle by the association of "les Amis de la Minéralogie".

It is kept in the storage rooms of the collections of the Muséum (i.e., not yet displayed to the public).
