general description

This sample shows meneghinite crystals inside ligthly smoked crystals of quartz. Crystals are prismatic, stick shaped and black. The whole sample measures 11.5 x 6.5 x 6 cm, meneghinite measures on the average 2 cm for 2 mm large.

This specimen belonged to the collection of Mr. Favre who has discovered it in july 1994 in range of Lauzière in Savoie, France. It has been swaped with a collector.

This sample is currently exposed in the Treasure Room, within the Gallery of Mineralogy of the Muséum national d’Histoire naturelle.
