general description

This aragonite shows prismatic crystals of gemmeous quality. They are associated to grayish spherules which could also be aragonite (Detail 1).

This specimen comes from the Sarrans dam, which is close to Montezix in Aveyron. This specimen was offered to the Museum national d’Histoire naturelle by Mr. Pierre-Jacques Chiappero. It is kept in the storage rooms of the collections (i.e., not yet displayed to the public).
